Dear Parents & Guardians

Mothers’ Day Breakfast & Liturgy

Thank you to the St Gerard’s Staff for preparing a lovely cooked breakfast for our mums recently, to celebrate Mothers’ Day. This was followed by a prayerful liturgy from the Pre Primary students giving thanks to Mums and also praying to Mary, our spiritual mother.

Kindergarten Enrolments 2019

Interviews are underway for Kindergarten and pre-Kindergarten places for next year. Students who turn 4 years of age between July 1st 2014 and June 30 2015 are eligible to attend Kindergarten in 2019. Any child turning 3 years of age in 2019 is eligible to join the pre-Kindergarten program once they turn 3. Please visit the School office for an enrolment form and to arrange an interview. Please let family & friends know that enrolments are being organised for 2019 now. Thanks!

School Disco

The P&F Disco held last Friday night was a big success. Thank you to all the parents who brought their children along—they had a wonderful time.

NAPLAN Assessments

Last week our Yr 3 & 5 students sat assessments in language and conventions, reading, writing and numeracy as part of the annual nation-wide assessments for Year 3, 5, 7 & 9 students. When results are made available to the School around September they will be sent home with each student.

Bunnings Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser

Each year the School organises the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle at the Balcatta store. This year this fundraiser falls on Sunday 10th June.

As the funds are used to offset the cost to families of the Year5/6 Camp which was held in February, Year 5/6 families will be asked to provide an adult helper for an hour or two on this day. If other members of the St Gerard’s School Community have an hour spare on Sunday 10th June we would appreciate your help. It would involve one of the following tasks– preparing bread rolls, cooking sausages, or serving customers, whichever job you feel most comfortable with. If you can help out, please contact the school office on 6241 8500 to let us know.  Many thanks!

Photo Day Reminder

Next Tuesday, 29th May is School Photo Day. Students are required to be in their full Winter School Uniform. Kindy and Pre Primary are to wear their Winter Sports Uniform. Year 1—6—girls are to wear their blue pinafore and white shirt and boys are to wear their blue shirt and grey trousers and school jumper. Please ensure your child is dressed neatly. Girls need to have correct hair accessories/colours, being blue or white ribbons or hair toggles. Families have been sent home an instruction sheet on how to order photos online. Family Photo envelopes are available from the school office.

Public Holiday

Please note that Monday 4th June is a public holiday to celebrate Western Australia Day. There is no school on this day.

Best wishes!
